Solicitud de artículos: ecología política del turismo / CFP: political ecology of tourism

La revista Ecología Política llama a contribuciones para el próximo número sobre Turismo. Journal Ecología Política calls for papers for the next number, on “political ecology of tourism” (English below) 
La revista Ecología Política, cuadernos de debate internacional convoca a los autores que lo deseen a enviar sus artículos para el número 52 de la revista cuya temática es la ecología política del turismo. En él se desean cubrir tanto dimensiones teóricas como ejemplos prácticos de aspectos tan variados como: turismo y gestión comunitaria de bienes comunes, justicia ambiental y conflictos socio-ambientales relacionados con los proyectos y la intensificación del turismo, gentrificación, decrecimiento turístico, análisis crítico de los impactos del “ecoturismo”, aspectos distributivos de las políticas relacionadas con el turismo, mercantilización turística de espacios y recursos naturales, entre otros. Este número saldrá publicado en diciembre de 2016.

 

Tipos de artículos:
Los tipos de artículos que se publican en la revista son:

• Artículos en profundidad:Son artículos normalmente con un cierto componente teórico y/o una exposición global de la temática. Analizan en detalle algunos de los aspectos (mencionados en el párrafo anterior) no basándose en un estudio de caso localizado, sino en una mirada amplia sobre el tema. Su extensión máxima es de24.000 caracteres (sin espacios incluidos pero incluyendo referencias), aproximadamente 8 páginas.
• Artículos breves:Son artículos de carácter regional o local y suelen centrarse en un caso de estudio concreto. Deben tener una extensión máxima de 12.000 caracteres (sin espacios incluidos pero incluyendo referencias), aproximadamente 4 paginas.
• Artículos de opinión: Son artículos con una extensión máxima de 12.000 caracteres (sin espacios incluidos pero incluyendo referencias), aproximadamente 4 páginas. Aportan una visión crítica y personal relacionada con la temática.
• Redes de resistencia: Son referencias de iniciativas de resistencia local y comunitaria a impactos ambientales. Tienen una extensión máxima de 9.000 caracteres (sin espacios incluidos pero incluyendo referencias), aproximadamente 3 páginas.
• Referentes ambientales: Son artículos que analizan la obra y las aportaciones de una persona referente del pensamiento ambiental relacionado con la temática. Tienen una extensión máxima de 18.000 caracteres (sin espacios incluidos pero incluyendo referencias), aproximadamente 6 páginas.
• Crítica de libros, webs e informes: Son artículos que hacen una crítica de un libro, web o informe relacionado con la temática. Tienen una extensión máxima de 6.000 caracteres (sin espacios incluidos pero incluyendo referencias), aproximadamente 1-2 páginas.

Únicamente serán aceptados los artículos que cumplan las condiciones señaladas.
Los artículos serán evaluados por expertos en la temática y por el comité editorial de la revista.
Plazos y procedimiento de entrega:
La entrega de los artículos se realizará en dos fases.
La primera fase consiste en el envío de un resumen del artículo. La fecha límite de recepción de los resúmenes es el 15 de julio.
Aquellos artículos cuya temática sea considerada de alto interés para el público objetivo, y que hagan posible la elaboración de un número que cubra un amplio espectro de subtemáticas en el marco del tema tratado, serán invitados a enviar los artículos finales que serán evaluados por expertos en la temática. La invitación a enviar el artículo final no presupone la publicación de este.
La fecha límite de entrega de los artículos finales será el 3 de octubre.
Tanto las propuestas de artículo como los textos finales se deben enviar a la dirección de correo electrónico[email protected].
Sobre la revista:
La revista Ecología Política es una revista semestral en español con más de 25 años de historia, que trata cuestiones ambientales y su relación con la sociedad. La revista está dirigida tanto a movimientos ambientales y sociales como a investigadores y académicos.
La revista se distribuye de forma digital mediante su web www.ecologiapolitica.info y en papel principalmente en España y América Latina. Un año después de la publicación digital de los artículos, estos pasan a ser de libre acceso en la web.

Call for papers for the journal Ecología Política, number 52 on the political ecology of tourism
The journal Ecología Política, cuadernos de debate internacional calls for articles for the 52 number of the journal that will focus on “the political ecology of tourism”. The new number aims to cover theoretical dimensions as well as various aspects of the main subject such as tourism and community management of commons, environmental justice and socio-environmental conflicts related to tourism projects and its intensification, gentrification, tourism and degrowth, critical analysis of the impacts of ecotourism, distributive aspects of policies related to tourism, commodification of spaces and natural resources, etc. The forthcoming number 52 of the journal will be published in December 2016.
 
Article types:
The types of articles published in the journal are the following:

• In-depth articles are related to the main subject of the issue. These are articles which have a theoretical component and/or analyse one of the aspects (mentioned in the paragraph above) of the main topic in detail from a macro perspective. Their length should be 24,000 characters (without including spaces but including references) and approximately 8 pages.
• Short articles with a regional or local focus that are related to the main subject of the same number of the journal. They analyse a concrete case study and have a length of 12,000 characters (without including spaces but including references) and approximately 4 pages.
• Opinion articles related to the subject of the number. They give a personal and critical vision of the subject matter and have a length of 12,000 characters (without including spaces but including references) and 4 pages.
• Articles about resistance networks related to the subject matter addressing local or community resistances to environmental impacts and have a length of maximum 9,000 characters (without including spaces but including references) and approximately 3 pageslong.
• Articles about key figures of environmental thinking are the ones analyzing the work and contributions of a reference person related to the special issue of each number. They usually have a length of maximum 18,000 characters (without including spaces but including references) and approximately 6 pages long.
• Reviews of books, webpages or reports make a critique of recent publications. They are usually 1-2 pages long and have a maximum of 6,000 characters (without including spaces but including references).

Only those that comply with the format of the journal will have the chance to get published.
The articles will be evaluated by experts on the main theme and by the editorial committee of the journal.
The procedure and deadlines for submission:
The submission of articles will be realized in two steps.
The first step entails the submission of an article abstract. The deadline for abstract submission is the 15^th of July, 2016.
The authors of the abstracts addressing a subtheme in accordance with the objective of that number and enabling to cover various dimensions of the main topic will be invited to send the final versions of their articles. The invitation to submit the full version of an article does not ensure its publication since the final articles will pass through a second revision of experts and editorial committee.
The deadline to submit the final version of the articles to be translated from English to Spanish is the 26^th of September, 2016.

Ecología Política is a semi-annual journal published in Spanish that addresses environmental questions and their link to society. It has a history older than 25 years, during which it has been distributed mainly in Spain and Latin America. It targets both academics and environmental/social organisations.
